The school approached DSA Electrical about replacing some old storage heaters in their port-a-cabin classrooms. The old storage heaters were inefficient and costly. In a busy classroom where pupils and teachers are in and out and the doors are frequently opened, the school needed a solution which ensured the classroom was comfortably heated without being overly costly. The school would also experience regular power outages from blown fuses. Education environments present additional challenges around safeguarding, access and business continuity.
DSA Electrical were able to recommend competitively priced electric heaters with thermostats, timers and source safety grills to prevent children from burning themselves on the radiators. The temperature can be adjusted accordingly and the timer allows the heaters to come on at a suitable time in the morning and switch off at night. A new main distribution panel was also installed to ensure they have enough power to meet their needs and avoid unnecessary power-outages. Work was carried out without disruption to the school day by our experienced DBS checked engineers.
The school were delighted with the new heaters which save the school money and ensures the port-a-cabin classrooms are always at a comfortable temperature for staff and pupils alike. The school also has an adequate power supply which avoids unexpected power-outages.
“Some things just can’t wait until the school holidays. That’s one of the best things about DSA Electrical – their flexibility. The power had to be turned off for a couple of days, and they managed to carry out the work over the weekend so the school could open as normal on the Monday. They even kept the freezers on while they turned the rest of the power off so we didn’t lose any catering supplies. With DSA Electrical, you know their advice is always genuine and reliable. They’re reliable and flexible. We’re really pleased with them”
