The existing lighting to the car park was dim and inadequate with increasing incidents of vandalism occurring on the site. Works needed to be undertaken while the car park was still in use by the public and certain services needed to be kept live at all times.
DSA Electrical were contracted by Makers to undertake the electrical elements of the refurbishment. Close communication with the main contractor, designers and parking attendants was vital. Works were carried out on a floor by floor basis. Temporary supplies were installed to maintain operations. Brand new Thorlux lighting was installed in addition to CCTV around the site.
The works were completed without the need to halt access by the public to the car park. The car park now benefits from excellent lighting which together with the CCTV cameras deters vandals and creates a safer environment for car park users. Works were completed on time on budget.
