Basildon Borough Council, a long standing client, was struggling to gain access to one of its properties. Having undertaken the mandatory 5 year electrical inspection and testing, the property needed some remedial works carried out. However, despite numerous court appearances and significant time and money spent by the Council’s legal team, the tenant was continuing to argue the works were not essential.
DSA Electrical was appointed to assist, and our Qualified Supervisor attended court, acting as a technical advisor to the Court. Our QS was able to clearly explain in non-technical language how the electrical defects posed danger and why access was imperative to correct them.
As a direct result of our Expert Witness services, the Council won the court case and were granted access to their property, potentially saving thousands of pounds in additional legal fees. DSA Electrical was then able to complete the necessary remedial works, ensuring the Council’s compliance and the tenant’s safety.
